Opening a blog is way easier then opening a deli! "Fish for a man, you feed him for a meal, teach him how to fish and you feed him for life". So, I plan to give you the culinary skills I am blessed to have and you will have to cook for yourself! Many recipes are made up over the years, I also have recipes that friends have passed on and will share them with you because I have tried them and they work!
If you have a recipe that you have tried and tested and works well, please be considerate and share it with the rest of us!

Lettuce Salad
Ingredients:
Romaine Lettuce
Cucumber
Tomato
Chow Mein noodles (the thinner the better)
Dressing:
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
3/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1 tbsp Sugar
1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
1/4 tbsp Lemon Juice
few cloves fresh Minced Garlic
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 cup Oil
Wash and slice lettuce into bit size pieces. Slice cucumber and tomato in quarters (you can use cherry tomatoes if you wish).
Mix all dressing ingredients besides the oil in an air tight container. Slowly add the oil, mixing quickly with a fork or with a whisk. Refrigerate. To retain the taste of the fresh garlic do not make dressing more than 1 day in advance of when you want to use it. Before pouring the dressing over the salad, shake well as the oil will have separated from the rest of the ingredients.
Pour dressing over salad just before serving. Depending on the amount of salad, you may not need all the dressing in one go.
Toss chow mein noodles on top.
Note: this salad is always well liked and disappears!
