Opening a blog is way easier then opening a deli! "Fish for a man, you feed him for a meal, teach him how to fish and you feed him for life". So, I plan to give you the culinary skills I am blessed to have and you will have to cook for yourself! Many recipes are made up over the years, I also have recipes that friends have passed on and will share them with you because I have tried them and they work!
If you have a recipe that you have tried and tested and works well, please be considerate and share it with the rest of us!
If u have any comments, suggestions, complaints or any feed back (positive and negative) please email me fifthpost@gmail.com

Marinated Mushrooms
Ingredients:
Closed cup or Button Mushrooms
Vinegar
Oil
Onion
If you are using button mushrooms, you can leave them whole or slightly bigger mushrooms can be cut into halves or quarters.
Wash the mushrooms well.
Put them in a pot with a mixture of white vinegar and boiling hot water. If the mushrooms pop up to the top of the water, push them down a few times with a spoon. Boil for 10 minutes. Drain.
In a separate pan, fry an onion (diced very fine) until they become translucent. Be generous with the oil.
Add the fried onions to the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper. Add some more oil and some more vinegar (to preserve them).
These can keep for weeks in the fridge (thats if there is any left!!!)
Et Voila!
